Data & Privacy
Export your customer data and manage data-protection obligations (GDPR).
Export all customers
Download a CSV of every customer in your directory, including consent fields and order counts. Use this to fulfil a data-access request or to keep your own records. A customer's full consent history is available from their individual record (Export data).
Data retention
GDPR says personal data must not be kept longer than necessary. Switch this on to automatically anonymise customers who have had no order activity for a set period. Their orders are kept and relabelled “Deleted Customer” for your records — only personal contact details (name, email, phone and consent) are removed. This cannot be undone.
Between 6 and 120 months. A customer with any uncollected order is never anonymised, no matter how old.
Your data-protection responsibilities
Under GDPR you are the data controller for your customers' personal data. Leaption stores it on your behalf. You must be able to (1) give a customer a copy of their data on request, (2) erase a customer when they ask. Both are built in: open any customer to export their data as JSON, or delete them — deleting anonymises their personal details (name, contact and consent are wiped) while preserving order history, and is logged in your Audit Log. You can also automate erasure of dormant customers above. Erasure cannot be undone.
